Sync on your terms.
StoryCairn can sync your reading state across devices via your own Dropbox account. It's off by default. You opt in when you're ready, and you can opt out at any time.

Everything you mark stays organized and available on every device you sign in to.
Bookmarks
All your bookmarks sync. Jump between devices without losing your place.
Reader settings
Font, size, spacing, theme — your reader preferences follow you automatically.
What does NOT sync
- Your EPUB files. Books stay on each device individually. If you want a book on two devices, download or import it on each.
- Anything through our servers. StoryCairn does not operate sync infrastructure. Your data moves through your own Dropbox account — we never see it, store it, or process it.
- Anything you haven't opted in to. Sync is off by default. If you never turn it on, nothing leaves your device. Ever.
How it works
- Connect your Dropbox. Open StoryCairn's settings and tap "Enable Sync." You'll authorize StoryCairn to access a dedicated app folder inside your Dropbox.
- Read normally. As you read, StoryCairn saves lightweight sync data (progress, annotations, settings) to your Dropbox in the background whenever you're online.
- Pick up on another device. Sign in with the same Dropbox account on your other device. StoryCairn pulls your reading state and you continue where you left off.
- Opt out at any time. Disconnect Dropbox in settings and your local data stays intact. Nothing is deleted, nothing is lost.
